the easy slicer

 Watching a popular cookery show on TV where the contestants are struggling hard to get a pile of courgette and eggplants prepared and sliced for 150 meals, reminded me how much it assists to have the ideal kitchen device for the job in hand. If anyone would have given them a Slicer Machine , the job would have been done within minutes.  As it was they had zero chance and judges stepped in to assist. It was an hour to go and lamb cutlets were sitting completely untouched.  It was going to end very badly, as the 150 guests were hungry yet happy but quite bloated with pre-dinner drinks they have consumed while waiting.  If you ask a cook which two gadgets for cooking they utilize at home also, most will tell you a squash chopper and a kitchen mandolin, as these are the two that can save the maximum amount of time and also manual labor.
